Residents may seek to recall Rashida Tlaib

A premature impeachment proceeding?

It is becoming clear that since being forcibly removed from a Detroit Economic Club event featuring President Trump, Congresswoman Tlaib has been on a personal vendetta to get the President . At a public event which went viral after her election to congress, Tliab’s profanity laced vow to “impeach the motherf***er” sparked outrage.

Today, Tlaib announced she would file the necessary paperwork to pursue an impeachment of President Trump. But is her impeachment action premature? Fellow freshman democrat congresswoman from Michigan’s 8th District, Elissa Slotkin thinks so, when asked she responded by stating that her voters “did not send her to congress to waste resources on a premature impeachment process.”

House Speaker Pelosi is also hesitant to pursue impeachment , stating "You don’t want to go down that path unless it is unavoidable.”

The impeachment process is quite clear, and while she can certainly file the paperwork to impeach as an elected representative, its justification at this time remains to be seen.

Most Americans do not support impeachment, though nearly two-thirds of Democrats are in favor, polls show. In a Quinnipiac University poll released on Tuesday, 59 percent of American voters said Congress should not begin impeachment proceedings.

Rumors surrounding a possible primary challenge have already begun as many democrats view her behavior as divisive and erratic.

A Go Fund Me has been started to raise money to replace Rashida Tlaib in congress, and our District committee will continue to raise the necessary funds to present an option to voters in 2020.
